The kick-off meeting of the WINTEX project was held at the Institute of Textile Research and Industrial Cooperation of Terrassa (INTEXTER), from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, on January 16th and 17th.

WINTEX project is co-financed by the European Commission’s ERASMUS + program under the Capacity Building for higher education call with the Grant Agreement number 610373-EPP-1-2019-1-ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP.

The project started on January 15th 2020, it has a duration of 3 years and a total budget of 999.998 €.

The project coordinator is the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and it counts with the participation of AEI Tèxtils, the Catalan cluster of technical textiles, also established in Terrassa. Five additional partners complete the European part of the consortium: the University of West Attica (UNIWA) and CRE.THI.DEV in Greece, CIAPE in Italy, Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi in Romania and CEDECS from France. The partnership is completed with six partners from Tunisia: 3 universities (University of Sfax, University of Monastir and the Higher Institute of Technological Studies of Ksar Hellal-ISET), one cluster (MFC-Pôle), one association (Association of Tunisian Textile Researchers-ATCTex) and a research center (CRNS).

WINTEX project aims to fill the gap in the area of specialized services for the textile sector, with the establishment of three innovation textile centers located at the participating Higher Education Institutions in Tunisia. These centers will play the role of focal points for the textile sector and relevant stakeholders to bloom innovations and promoting entrepreneurship.
